We are ecstatic to report that last week two of our adult cats went home together. Missy and Kay Kay were sisters who are very deeply bonded. From the looks of things they're making themselves right at home with their new forever family, and we couldn't be happier. Congratulations and we wish them the best!
We also heard back from the new parents of our resident gorgeous longhair tortoiseshell Mamma Ireland. They say she is adjusting beautifully, which is a big relief! Mamma Ireland was named because
she had her litter of kittens on St. Patty's Day several years ago in the wild. A Cat Corner volunteer trapped her and her kittens. At the time they thought she was wild, so she was even ear-tipped to show she had been spayed! Lo and behold, back at the Cat Corner she proved to be a consummate snuggler with people, but was never comfortable around those of the feline persuasion. She remained with us long after her litter found homes, and we are overjoyed that she found such a loving family so she can have a place of her own.
The Cat Corner would like to give a shout out and great big thank you to all the volunteers, foster parents, and forever homes who have worked so hard to find homes for all of the spring kittens. As outlined in the previous post we have had a very active kitten season this year and it's not over yet - many of our foster parents are now fostering their second or third litter! We've made it this far and it has been a long, grueling journey, but we have a lot to show for it, with more than 30 adoptions since July first alone. This would not have been possible without the outstanding dedication, hard work, and perseverance of a large number of our volunteers.
Now it's time to find our second wind. Every life makes a difference, and together we already saved more than 30. Let's make that 130!
