The last two months we've been working hard on the King Project. Thank you to everyone who donated to help us pay for the surgeries to do this crucial work! To date we have TNR'd (trap-neuter-return) 11 adult cats, and were able to socialize 2 of the adults and 3 kittens who have since been adopted! That's 16 cats at one location! We have a few cats left at that site who are very trap smart, but we're still working to get them spayed/neutered. Below are two cats we socialized from the location who have been adopted. We have also been working a site at a local business in Hampton where there are tons of cats who need our help. So far we have TNR'd 10 cats there. Below are a few of our lucky winners and their home. As an animal rescuer it is always nice to be able to help and care for the cats who live in your neighborhood. We had three volunteers find cats around their homes who were able to help change their lives. One kitty, Buddy, turned out to be very friendly and has since been adopted! Another sweetheart, Mr. Red, is hanging out in foster care until he's current on vaccines and then he will be up for adoption. Lastly we had Sunshine who was spayed this week and will be returned to her coastal community in a few days where she will have a full-time caregiver. In total our TNR team has helped an amazing 29 cats since January! They will now live healthier lives and have a caregiver who feeds them daily. If you are interested in volunteering to join our team we are always looking for more volunteers! The cost of surgeries, food, etc also adds up very quickly. Donations are always appreciated so we can continue to do this lifesaving work. You can donate directly at this link: https://donorbox.org/petraswishferalcatfund ~Kelly Longmire, TNR Coordinator |
