    Cat Cuddler Application


    This application should be filled out as the Cat Cuddler applying.
    There is a section for Parent/Guardian information, and you will also be filling out our Adult Shelter Volunteer Application.
    We will not be able to move forward with processing the Cat Cuddler application without the required accompanying adult volunteer application being filled out as well.
    Children 6 to 15 years old are eligible to participate in our Cat Cuddler program.

    Parent/Guardian Information

    All of our shelter correspondence is via e-mail.
    Please make sure you provide a valid e-mail address that you have frequent access to.
    Due to the nature of working with animals, we advise your tetanus shot be up-to-date.

    In Case of an Emergency

    This emergency contact should be someone other than the accompanying parent/guardian.

    Availability

    Available Cat Cudder Shifts: 

    Tuesday through Saturday:
    12pm - 2pm
    Public Hours of Operation: 

    Sunday & Monday:
    Closed to the public

    Tuesday through Saturday
    10am - 2pm


    *Holidays: Depends on available help*
    Visitors are asked to call the shelter
    before visiting during National holidays.
    Please select which day(s) and time(s) you would like to volunteer:
    Due to the time involved in training our volunteers, we request that each Cat Cuddler makes a 
    ​minimum commitment of 2 hours (1 shift) of cat cuddling per month.

    Volunteer Code of Conduct

    As a volunteer for The Cat Corner:
    I agree to abide by all policies and procedures of The Cat Corner, Inc. I will conform to all of The Cat Corner's rules and regulations, including safety, discrimination, harassment and confidentiality. I give consent to The Cat Corner to use and reproduce my name, voice, and/or likeness or that of my pet(s) in connection with any advertising, programming and/or promotion on The Cat Corner in any media it chooses. 
    I further agree to:
    • Support the mission, goals and efforts of The Cat Corner with a positive attitude.
    • Approach my volunteer job responsibilities with professionalism.
    • Treat all animals with respect and kindness. 
    • Report to my volunteer job physically and mentally fit for duty. The Cat Corner is a drug free organization.
    • Deal fairly with all Cat Corner volunteers, leads, officers, directors, donors, customers, visitors, etc., without regard to their gender, race, ethnicity, religion, creed, age, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, military status, veteran status, handicap or disability.
    • Contact the Volunteer Coordinator immediately if I feel discriminated against or harassed by someone in connection with my volunteering.
    • Only serve as agency representative in the community or media spokesperson when authorized to do so by the President.
    • Correct, when possible, misleading or inaccurate information and representations made by others concerning The Cat Corner, Inc. policies, practices and procedures.
    • Maintain and safeguard the confidentiality of all business, donor, volunteer and animal records, credit and financial information and/or any information relating to the operation of organization that is not known or readily accessible to the public.
    • Observe all safety and security rules in the performance of my volunteer job duties. Report all accidents, injuries, fire, theft, or unusual incidents immediately after occurrence or discovery.
    • Contact the Volunteer Coordinator if I have any questions or concerns about The Cat Corner’s policies, procedures, interpersonal communications or my volunteer responsibilities.
    • In order to remain in good standing, I understand that I am required to consistently adhere to the Volunteer Code of Conduct.

    Grounds for Dismissal

    Grounds for dismissal include, but are not limited to:
    • Alcohol or other intoxicant use while working
    • Mistreatment of any animal
    • Inappropriate attitude or behavior towards any other persons, including other volunteer staff
    • Misrepresenting The Cat Corner, Inc. policies
    • Disseminating privileged information
    • Theft of property belonging to The Cat Corner, Inc.
    • Not fulfilling volunteer tasks and/or duties
    • Any other reason not noted, but deemed as grounds for dismissal by the Lead for the day
    Any disputes regarding dismissal can be further discussed at a later arranged date and time with the President or Vice President.

    Liability Waiver

    I recognize working with animals as a volunteer for The Cat Corner, Inc. (The Cat Corner) places me at risk.
    I understand that because I may handle animals, it is important for me to speak with my physician about the tetanus and rabies pre-exposure vaccinations.
    ​I hereby release, indemnify, and hold harmless The Cat Corner, Inc., PetSmart Charities or PetSmart, and its agents from any and all claims, causes of action, or demands based on damages or injuries I may incur in connection with my volunteer services for The Cat Corner, Inc. including by not limited to animal bites, accidents, or injuries.

    Reminder...

    After you have submitted this Cat Cuddler application, the accompanying parent/guardian must also fill out an Adult Shelter Volunteer Application, which can be found here:
