Violet's Future is Looking Brighter

Violet was adopted from the Cat Corner three years ago from the shelter and was returned to us because she had developed glaucoma and cataracts in both her eyes. Due to a lack of treatment Violet had lost her vision and was mostly blind. When I went to see her at the shelter her eyes were cloudy, bright red, and bulging from her head. She was terrified of the other cats and very stressed out with the over stimulating environment, so I brought her home to foster her.

Violet immediately started treatments at the ophthalmologist to get her eyes the care they needed, and we were hoping eventually she would be a candidate for surgery. Violet is such a sweet girl and has been a champ receiving all of her eye medications as well as her visits with the ophthalmologist. I was so ecstatic when Violet was chosen as a finalist in the "Flaunt Your Feline" competition. Not only did I know she was special, but everyone else thought so as well. I cannot express my gratitude enough to the community for pulling together for Violet and voting for her in the competition. Although she did not win, we were able to get enough awareness out for her that we raised all of the needed funds for her medical care and surgery.

I am happy to report that Violet is doing really well! She has had her cataracts removed and is healing quite nicely! The doctor says she has regained a lot of her vision and is seeing well. The difference in Violet's behavior is just remarkable. She has always been a sweet kitty, but now she looks at me with so much gratitude and love. She prances around the room and even runs and chases toys. She is so happy! She still has some healing to do, but when she's available for adoption I have no doubt she'll make someone very happy! Thank you all.

With Love,

Violet's Foster Mom

Cat Corner is a nonprofit, no kill shelter that receives no government support. Violet's surgery was made possible by the donations given from our amazing supporters. Our adoption fees do not cover the amount of money that we put into each of our cats and kittens for adoption. TNR is program through Cat Corner that is nonprofit and also relies on donations.
